The "disciples" are men and women who are committed to changing the direction of their lives. Usually, they are persons who have come from troubled backgrounds and who are often plagued by character deficiencies that aren't easy to overcome. These kinds of persons are exactly what the Lord had in mind in Luke 14:16-23. I've put together a study of that passage. Further training will be made available for "graduates" who wish to become missionaries themselves and eventually, perhaps, to head up a discipleship house of their own as a house leader.
